Only use water based cosmetics. Avoid at all price oil based products, coal tar derivates and/or heavy creams. Every night clean your skin from any makeup residue.
4. Hormones
According with a good percentage of the dermatologists, hormones are one of the leading causes for acne. They can be the cause of a flare up and can be used to reduce acne outbreaks.
5. Keep your skin clean
This should be common sense for everybody! If you have acne cleaning your skin is even more important. Do it every night gently without harsh scrubbing, use a skin exfoliator maximum twice a week to remove the skin debris and clear pores.
6. Shaving
Actually shaving is a great skin exfoliator. But don't do it on inflamed areas. Always choose carefully a shaving cream for sensitive skin.
7. Stress
Stress is believed to be a factor in acne breakouts as emotions trigger chemical reactions which can lead to outbreaks. This one I experienced myself and as a result I had to work on the computer standing up for 3 weeks! True story!
